Symi is a small, largely unspoilt island with a superb natural harbour and fine old houses. The island is close to Rhodes and the Turkish coast. Most visitors to the island are day-trippers from Rhodes so the town tends to be very busy from mid-morning to early evening when the day-trippers leave. To see Symi at its best you really need to stay on the island for a couple of days. That way you can see the town early in the morning and after the day-trippers have gone and you spend the time in between visiting other parts of the island. |
